Let's take a second to talk about newborn photography sessions.
There are a wide variety of directions one might go to photograph their new little human.
My personal favorite; in-home sessions.
The idea of someone coming into your home to take photos of you and your family might seem awfully daunting.
But TRUST ME, it's going to be worth it! It truly is the best way to capture your current, beautiful reality... not some perfectly staged moment. I'm not talking about the dishes in the sink and laundry on the floor. I am talking about your safe place, somewhere you don't have to awkwardly get comfortable, somewhere your older children can be themselves and show off their favorite toys, somewhere your just-as-important fur babies are welcome.
Here are a few take aways from my experiences:
Minimal space still works; we will utilize the windows and neutral backgrounds.
Allows other family members and siblings to feel comfortable in their safe spaces.
Less outside stimulation, less pressure.
Comfort to feed baby.
Go to in-home session items:
Hospital Memorabilia
Boppy Pillow
Soft, Neutral Blankets
Swaddle
Go to in-home scenes:
Cozy on the couch
In the new nursery
Running around outside
A neutral wall by the window
Front porch; swing, steps
Master bedroom
